Cooking Hacks: The Best (Frozen) Cinnamon Rolls

Listen, I love ooey, gooey cinnamon rolls. Like bakery style cinnamon rolls. I have tried making them from scratch. But they never turn out. And the ones from the can just aren’t the same. But I have finally found THE cinnamon rolls. Easy, fast and incredibly good cinnamon rolls. Basically all the musts.

I made these easy cinnamon rolls for the first time at the beginning of the summer after getting the recipe from our babysitter. (Thanks, Marie! You’re the best!) And since then I have been ask to make them over and over again. I always get asked for the recipe. And people are always so shocked that I brought “homemade” cinnamon rolls.

But the best part is… they are frozen cinnamon rolls! Literally, cinnamon rolls straight out of the frozen section at the grocery store. I just doctor them up a little.

The CInnamon Rolls

So lets get right down to the details. I buy Rhodes Bake N Serv Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting. The thaw, rise and bake kind. See below.

THE SEcret Sauce

But here is the secret sauce! I prep these the night before. I get a 9” x 13” pan. I pour a little less than 1 cup of heavy whipping cream in the bottom of the pan. Just enough to cover the bottom. I add a couple of drops of vanilla throughout the heavy whipping cream about 1 tsp. I place the frozen cinnamon rolls in pan, sitting in the heavy whipping cream and evenly placed throughout the pan.

I cover the pan and store over night in the refrigerator. The next morning, I take the pan with the rolls out of the refrigerator about 1 -2 hours before cooking to let the rolls rise. Then I cook for about 35-45 minutes at 350. So basically, after you add the heavy whipping cream and vanilla, you follow the directions on the back of the package. But I usually have to cook my rolls a little longer than recommended because of the cream in the pan.

After cooking at the cream cheese frosting. And enjoy! Seriously, make these for your next brunch and sit back and let everyone think you were up at the crack of dawn making cinnamon rolls from scratch.

WARNING: These are so good that you will want to make them all the time. I keep a package or two stocked in my freezer at all times now.
