Looking for an easy, but amazing side dish for your dinner? You have to try these cheesy, garlic dinner rolls. Warm bread, cheese curds, and garlic? You really can’t go wrong! To make these rolls, I use Rhodes Bake-N-Serv dinner rolls. No spending hours to make homemade dough. Plus since they are frozen, I always keep some on hand to add with any dinner. These are my easy, go-to side dish whether we are having spaghetti or steak. They have quickly become my family and friends’ most requested side dish for me to make or bring to a dinner party.

These rolls are loaded with dairy goodness. First, I stuff them with cheese curds. When making them, make sure to cover the cheese curds completely with the dough and form them back into a ball. You don’t want any of the cheese melting out of the roll. Second, I roll each ball in the butter and herb mixture, making sure it is well-coated on all sides. And third, I add shredded mozzarella to the top of the rolls about halfway through baking. These rolls are so cheesy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 10 Rhodes Bake-N-Serv Dinner rolls
  • 1 cup cheese curds
  • 4 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Italian herbs
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella

Instructions

  1. In a 12" cast iron skillet, place 10 frozen Rhodes dinner rolls evenly spaced apart. Cover with plastic wrap and thaw for 2 hours.
  2. Combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian herbs in a small bowl.
  3. Once thawed, take the rolls and add 1-2 cheese curds to the center of the dough. Form the dough back into a ball and make sure the curds are completely covered with dough.
  4. Roll the cheese-stuffed dough balls in the melted butter and herb mixture. Make sure the dough is well coated in the butter mixture.
  5. Place the dough balls back into the cast iron skillet, evenly spaced apart. Add any extra butter mixture to the top. Cover with plastic wrap and allow them to continue to rise for 2-3 more hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 350° and bake for 20-25 minutes. In the last 10 minutes, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella on top of the rolls and continue baking. The rolls should be golden brown on top when done.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve warm with your favorite main dishes!

Notes:

To make for a smaller serving size, use a smaller cast iron skillet and fewer rolls. I have made this with a 9" cast iron skillet and 8 rolls. And a 4" square cast iron skillet with 4 rolls.
