Taco TWOsday Birthday Party
This year Anneliese's 2nd birthday fell on a Tuesday so of course, we celebrated with a Taco TWOsday birthday party! Tacos, pinatas, margaritas, and all. Check out the rest of this blog to find out more about the party and where I purchased all the decor and everything.
Invites, Decor, Outfit
To get some theme ideas, I started with this invite from Etsy. While I wanted a fiesta feel, I also wanted it to be pretty girly. I also found Anneliese the cutest Taco Twosday onesie. The puff sleeves were too cute. And her mini sombrero was from Amazon. I can't believe she actually wore it the whole time. On Amazon, I found most of the paper goods. The plates, cups, and napkins came in a great pack for a good price. The taco TWOsday balloons and the Mexican paper flowers were the backdrops for our food table and photos along with the photo props.
Taco Time
The cake came from Albertson's which made it easy and inexpensive. For the food, we had chicken and beef tacos. Find the chicken recipe here and the beef recipe here. My mom made her famous sangria recipe. And I borrowed a friend's amazing margarita recipe. Jalapeno poppers were also a must! For our poppers, we keep it simple: jalapenos with cream cheese and bacon. I tried to keep all the other food pretty easy by picking up Pico de Gallo, guacamole and queso and all the other taco fixings. The best part of the decorating was incorporating all of my mom's amazing Mexican decor into the party. We borrowed her Mexican blankets, candles, sombreros, etc to add to the stuff I purchased. The kids' favorite part was definitely the pinata and the candy! We had the best time celebrating our little 2-year-old. I hope all this information helps you plan the best Taco TWOsday party for your little one too!Fiesta til the cows come home,New Mexico Milkmaid
