I scream, you scream, we all scream for an ice cream birthday party! Last week, we celebrated our "Sweet One", Anneliese, and her 1st birthday with an ice cream party. The whole theme for this party started with the smash cake photo shoot. I wanted to do something a little different than the traditional smash cake for the photo shoot. And what better way to make it Undeniably Dairy than by adding ice cream?? So for the shoot with TmD Photos, we had an ice cream sundae and some ice cream cones instead of a cake. The only issue we encountered was Anneliese's poor little fingers got a little cold from eating the ice cream with her hands instead of using the spoon. Also, Gwenevere could not resist jumping in on the shoot and eating some ice cream. This made for some pretty sweet photos of both my girls.

For her birthday party, we based everything around the ice cream sundae bar. From the invitation to the decor, we had ice cream cones just about everywhere. We had flower arrangements on the table to look like ice cream sundaes. To display Anneliese's monthly photos, I made a giant twelve scoop ice cream cone; one scoop for each month's photo. The biggest hit with the kids was the Face-painter. This lady was incredible! She painted about a million faces even the adults got in on the face-painting fun. And her balloon animals were awesome. She even brought a giant ice cream cone made from balloons with her. For a game, I made a pin the cherry on the ice cream cone, but we were all having way to much fun to slow down long enough to actually play the game (#momfail).

The main event was definitely the ice cream sundae bar complete with single serve ice cream bowls for the kids to take home with them. We served my favorite ice cream from Tillamook. We kept it simple with vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream. Then for toppings, you had the choice of adding cake, M&Ms, Reese's Pieces, gummy bears, sprinkles, hot fudge, hot caramel and pineapple. And of course you had to top your sundae with Reddi Wip whipping cream! It was such a fun day celebrating our Sweet One with all of our family and friends. Udderly in love with ice cream,New Mexico Milkmaid
